Abstract | |||
Specific Goals of the LTG 1. Fine-scale mapping of established loci through detailed genotype and sequence analysis of well-characterized biological samples derived from epidemiologic cohort and case-control studies; 2. Performance of methodological studies to enhance high-throughput genotyping and sequencing to identify low and medium-penetrant gene variants in population and family-based studies; 3. Characterization of genetic regions associated with cancer susceptibility, and delineation of gene-gene and gene-environment interactions in collaboration with epidemiologists and statisticians; 4. Collaboration with basic scientists for biological, functional, and genomic studies (including parallel somatic and germline variations) to determine causal gene variants and biological mechanisms that may be amenable to clinical interventions. 5. Training of interdisciplinary investigators in human cancer genomics that bridge laboratory, clinical, and population approaches. |
